Installing Sanitation Systems

My name is Geoff and I am a proud Australian. When my wife and I retired and decided to build our dream home on the Gold Coast, it didn't cross our minds that this would lead to us becoming self-taught experts on sanitation systems. Our home appeared perfect when it was completed. However, after 6 months, we began to smell a foul odour rising from the floor. I called in a sanitation expert who said that the pipes which had been installed were not the right type. Thankfully, this problem was eventually fixed. I decided to start a new blog to advise others about the pros and cons of sanitation systems.

Factors to Consider when looking for Skip Bin Services

Using skip bins for waste removal is the best approach in hygienically dealing with waste. There are different types of skip bins and service providers. As such, you should make sure that your selection suits your needs. There are several factors you should consider when looking for skip bin services in your area.

Identify your Waste

There are different types of bins for different types of wastes. As such, you should first assess your most abundant waste type and choose the right skip bin. You may have a variety of different wastes and your budget may not allow you to hire more than one skip bin. In such scenarios, you can put each type of waste in different bags before disposing them to the bin. In addition, each skip bin type has a limit on the weight it can carry.

Check up their Services

Before you select the service provider, you must first ascertain whether they provide the services you are looking for. A skip bin service may only deal with green waste or only deal in general waste. Mostly, you will find that these companies deal with both – green and general waste. It is important, however, to ensure that the company deals with the waste you want to dispose. Skip companies have requirements of specific wastes that they allow in their bins. For instance, some companies may not allow things such as concrete, bricks, soil, or timber. If you are in construction business and produce these types of wastes, you may need to have a thorough check up of the skip company before you hire their bins.

Recycling Policy

In keeping up with efforts to promote environmental sustainability, you may have to choose a skip company that has a recycling policy. These companies recycle waste materials that can be recycled, rather than just disposing all of it in landfills. One of the things you will have to check is whether the company has a recycling depot.

Beware of Asbestos

If you have waste materials such as gutters, fascias, wall sheetings, and floor tiles, you might be at risk of exposure to asbestos. Although you may have the right skip bins for this type of wastes, you need to take necessary precautions to protect yourself and your family from exposure. Even minimal exposure to asbestos can have serious health implications. The best option is to go for a company that can do the collection for you. The collectors have the right gear – including masks – that keeps them safe when dealing with such waste materials.
